1. OVERVIEW

At Thoughtful Nook, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. Because our products are made to order and often personalized, our return policy varies depending on the type of product you order. Please read this policy carefully before making a purchase.

2. PERSONALIZED AND CUSTOMIZED ITEMS – NO RETURNS

IMPORTANT: Items that have been personalized or customized with your name, text, or uploaded images are NOT eligible for return or exchange.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Products with custom names
  • Items with personalized text or messages
  • Products featuring uploaded photos or images
  • Any item specifically created according to your custom specifications

Why We Cannot Accept Returns on Personalized Items:

Because these items are custom-made specifically for you, they cannot be resold to another customer. All personalized orders are considered final sale at the time of purchase.

Please Review Your Order Carefully: Before completing your purchase, double-check all personalization details including spelling, names, dates, and uploaded images. We are not responsible for errors in personalization that you provide.

3. NON-PERSONALIZED ITEMS – 30-DAY RETURN WINDOW

For products that are NOT personalized or customized, we offer a 30-day return window from the date of delivery.

3.1 Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for a return, your item must meet ALL of the following conditions:

  • Returned within 30 days of delivery date
  • Item is unused and in the same condition as received
  • Item is in its original packaging
  • Item has not been personalized or customized
  • Proof of purchase (order number or receipt)

3.2 Return Shipping Costs

Customer Responsibility: For non-personalized items returned for reasons of personal preference (changed mind, ordered wrong size, don’t like the product, etc.), the customer is responsible for all return shipping costs.

Our Responsibility: If the return is due to our error (wrong item shipped, defective product, quality issue), we will cover the return shipping costs.

4. DEFECTIVE OR INCORRECT ITEMS

We stand behind the quality of our products. If you receive an item that is defective, damaged, or incorrect (we sent the wrong product), we will make it right.

4.1 What Qualifies as Defective or Incorrect

  • Defective: Product has manufacturing defects, printing errors, or quality issues
  • Damaged: Product arrived broken, torn, or damaged during shipping
  • Incorrect: We sent you the wrong product (different from what you ordered)

4.2 Reporting Timeframe

You must report defective, damaged, or incorrect items within 14 days of delivery. After 14 days, we may not be able to honor replacement or refund requests.

4.3 Required Documentation

To process a claim for defective, damaged, or incorrect items, please email us at thethoughtfulnook@gmail.com with:

  • Your order number
  • Clear photos of the defective, damaged, or incorrect item
  • Photos of the packaging (if damaged in shipping)
  • Description of the issue

4.4 Resolution

If your claim is approved, we will offer one of the following solutions at our discretion:

  • Free replacement of the item
  • Full refund to your original payment method

For defective, damaged, or incorrect items, we will provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you.

5. HOW TO INITIATE A RETURN

To start a return for eligible non-personalized items, follow these steps:

Step 1: Contact Us

Email us at thethoughtfulnook@gmail.com with your order number and reason for return. Please include the item name and any relevant details.

Step 2: Wait for Authorization

We will review your return request and, if approved, respond within 1-2 business days with instructions.

Step 3: Package Your Item

Securely package the item in its original packaging. Include your RMA number on the outside of the package.

Step 4: Ship the Item

Ship the item to the return address provided in your authorization email. If we are covering return shipping (defective/incorrect items), use the prepaid label we provide. If you are responsible for return shipping costs, use a trackable shipping method and retain your tracking number.

Important: Do not return items without contacting us first and receiving an RMA number. Unauthorized returns may not be processed.

6. REFUND PROCESSING

6.1 Inspection

Once we receive your returned item, we will inspect it to ensure it meets our return eligibility requirements. This inspection typically takes 2-3 business days.

6.2 Refund Approval

If your return is approved, we will initiate a refund to your original payment method within 5-10 business days of receiving and inspecting the returned item.

6.3 Refund Amount

Your refund will include the purchase price of the item. Shipping costs are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error (defective, damaged, or incorrect item).

6.4 Refund Timeline

After we process your refund, please allow 5-10 business days for the credit to appear in your account. The exact timing depends on your bank or credit card company’s processing time.

6.5 Notification

You will receive an email confirmation once your refund has been processed. If you have not received your refund within the stated timeframe, please contact your bank or credit card company first, then contact us at thethoughtfulnook@gmail.com.

7. NON-RETURNABLE ITEMS

In addition to personalized items, the following are not eligible for return:

  • Items returned after 30 days from the delivery date
  • Items that have been used, worn, or are not in their original condition
  • Items without original packaging
  • Items returned without authorization (no RMA number)
  • Gift cards or promotional codes

8. EXCHANGES

At this time, we do not offer direct exchanges. If you need a different size, color, or product, please return the original item following our return process and place a new order for the item you want.

For defective or incorrect items, we may offer a replacement instead of a refund at our discretion.

9. LATE OR MISSING REFUNDS

If you have not received your refund within the stated timeframe:

  • Check your bank account or credit card statement again
  • Contact your credit card company or bank – processing delays can occur
